Research

Research that starts with the patient's day.

We partner with universities, hospitals and patient organisations to turn continuous, real-world health data into evidence.

Motor neurone disease

Connected care for Australians living with MND.

MND affects each person differently, and needs change faster than clinic visits can track. Existing digital tools ask a lot of people living with MND and give too little back.

We are working with Australian research and community partners on a tool people living with MND will want to keep using. It is being designed with them, their families, carers and clinicians.

How we run studies

From co-design to evidence.

  1. Co-design with the people who will use it

Participants, families, carers and clinicians shape what is measured and what comes back to them.

  2. Configure Thrive for the study

Researchers switch on only the measures they need. One band, at home, no extra devices.

  3. Run it in the real world

Dashboards show each participant's baseline and any drift, with consented data export.

  4. Validate and give back

Remote measures are tested against clinical ones, and findings go back to care and the community.

Research areas

Where real-world data matters most.

We study how the body responds, adapts and declines over time, in homes, communities, care settings and high-performance programs.

Lead program

Motor neurone disease

Connection and continuity between clinic visits.

Orthostatic hypotension

Blood pressure and heart rate response to standing.

Neuromuscular and skeletal

Movement, load and recovery over time.

Elite sports performance

Readiness and recovery for high-performance programs.

Remote care delivery

What clinicians need to see between visits.

Support MND research

Three ways to help.

Every option keeps people living with MND at the centre, and keeps charitable gifts separate from Optihealth.

Tax-deductible

Give to the research

Charitable gifts go directly to our research and community partners, both endorsed Deductible Gift Recipients. They receive the funds, issue receipts and report back to you. Direct your gift to the part of the project that matters to you.

Thrive Support Program

Sponsor a band

A$660 puts a Thrive band, app and carer connection on the wrist of one person living with MND, at no cost to them. Businesses can sponsor a whole state cohort.

How sponsorship works
Health services

Partner with us

Health services, clinicians and researchers can join as a site, refer participants or collaborate on follow-on studies.

Our research model

Built for studies, not just consumers.

Researcher-selected features

Each study switches on only the measures it needs.

Australian health data rules

Consent and data handling designed for Australian requirements.

Dashboards and clean export

Cohort views for study teams and consented export for analysis.

One Australian team

Hardware, firmware, app and participant support from the people who built them.

For funders, government and agencies

Request the case for support.

Project details, funding options and gift recognition are shared privately. Tell us who you are and we will send the case for support and introduce you to the project leads.

Charitable gifts go to our research and community partners, not to Optihealth.
